[edit] Looses Settings When Power Disconnected

  • RLC-1 doesn't have a battery, so that can't be the problem.
  • RLC-2, RLC-4, RLC-5:
    • Replace the Dallas RAM module (it has a battery inside).
    • If ramping the power supply voltage up slowly on startup makes it loose settings, replace the reset chip (DS-1232 or DS-1233)
  • RLC-Club, RLC-3:
    • Check battery (should be at least 2.8V, new batteries run from 3.0 to about 3.3V).
    • Check for voltage at the RAM chips (pin 32).
    • Power to the RAM chips should be supplied by the DS-1221 (or equivalent).

[edit] RLC-1 Plus Serial TX Modification

On some older RLC-1 Plus controllers, the serial data from the controller to the computer gets messed up (strange characters, etc). See RLC-1 Plus Serial TX Modification for a simple modification that may help.
